Avv. Federico Di Salvo
Human Rights expert in litigation before domestic and supranational courts
Biography
Federico Di Salvo has been a member of the Florence Bar since 2009 and represents clients before the European Court of Human Rights, as well as before domestic and international courts. He is a certified specialist in human rights protection and international protection under Article 3(n) of Ministerial Decree No. 144/2015, and he is admitted to practise before Italy’s higher courts. From 2014 to 2018, he served as Assistant Lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, where he worked on, and contributed to the determination of, thousands of Italian cases concerning the right to a fair trial in civil and criminal matters.
He graduated in legal philosophy and later obtained a PhD in legal theory and legal history. His professional and academic interests focus on the protection of fundamental rights, the relationship between the individual and public power, legal pluralism, the comparison and coexistence of legal systems, and constitutional developments relating to rights and freedoms in Europe. He has also pursued studies in ecclesiastical and canon law and has collaborated on several occasions with ecclesiastical courts. He trained between Florence and Munich, working with leading legal practices including the administrative law firm of Professor M.P. Chiti, the Tonolli firms in Munich, and SLVB in Florence.
Since 2013, he has lectured and delivered professional training in advocacy and international human rights law for universities, bar associations and specialist legal training schools. He is Teaching Fellow in International Law at the University of Siena and has served as Adjunct Lecturer in International Law at the School of Specialisation for the Legal Professions of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro. He is also Teaching Fellow in Legal Philosophy at the University of Florence.
Since 2018, he has been an official trainer for the Council of Europe’s HELP Programme (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals). In that capacity, he contributes to the adaptation of training courses to the Italian legal system for judges, legal professionals and practitioners working in the field of European and international human rights law.
In 2024, he was appointed Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tuscany. In recognition of his diplomatic and consular service, he received the award for “Best Consul of the Year 2024”.
Avv. Alessandro Dinisi
Human Rights expert in litigation before supranational courts and civil law
Biography
Alessandro Dinisi is a lawyer specialising in human rights protection, litigation before the European Court of Human Rights, and European civil law. He assists individuals and organisations with advocacy, advisory services and strategic litigation at national and supranational levels.
From 2020 to 2025, he provided legal support at the Italian State Advocate General’s Office as an expert assisting the Agent of the Italian Government before the European Court of Human Rights. In that role, he worked in particular on cases concerning property rights, the right to respect for private and family life, with a particular focus on personal data protection, reproductive rights and the recognition of parent-child relationships, as well as environmental and climate litigation. Through this work, he developed in-depth knowledge of the Convention system and of the dynamics of supranational litigation.
He holds a PhD in Legal Sciences, private law curriculum, awarded in 2020 under a joint supervision arrangement with the UNESCO Housing Chair at Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona. His academic and professional work focuses on the justiciability of socio-economic rights, the right to housing, and the impact of the European Convention on Human Rights on the categories of civil law.
Since May 2025, he has devoted himself full-time to litigation, advisory and training in the field of fundamental rights, the rule of law and judicial protection of human rights, assisting individuals and organisations in the development of strategic cases at national and international level. He is also Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Pisa. Over the years, he has also taken part in a number of professional training projects for lawyers and judges on the European Convention on Human Rights and judicial dialogue between courts.
